Hats - Part Two

My quest to put a hat on every Romanian head has fallen short. But with the help of the humanitarian aid missionaries, Elder and Sora Wolsey, we managed to place almost 200 hats.  Here are some of the stories.
The first batch of hats went to the Constanta Branch. For their branch Christmas party they visited an orphanage bearing gifts which included our hats.  No pictures were allowed at that event.  About 15 hats went to a facility in Bucuresti where there are children who have been found living on the streets stay until a home is found for them.  Again, we were not allowed to take pictures.

As you may have heard, Romania had a very harsh winter.  There were villages snowed in for weeks.  The HA missionaries, working with other agencies, helped deliver stoves to areas that were very isolated. They distributed our hats along the way.

Sora Wolsey with family that received a stove and hats.

This lady's home burned down during the snow storm.  She was able to salvage a small stack of dishes and a wrought iron headboard.  In this picture you can see that her hands have ash dust on them.

This lady took a bag of hats back to her village of 16 people.

Doesn't he look great in that hat!

Summer is almost here and there won't be time for a lot of hat looming but it sure has been fun to see where these hats have gone.
