"Take Time to Be Kind"

When we arrived in Bucuresti, Romania on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, the first senior missionary couple we met was Elder and Sora Patton, the office couple.  We were tired after a very long flight and totally unfamiliar with our surroundings.  But the Pattons welcomed us with open arms (literally!) and made us feel welcome.  They arrived two weeks before we did and now they have left to go home two weeks before us.

I love this picture!  Elder Wahlquist and Elder Patton made quite a pair.  They are two of the kindest men I know.

The Pattons loved to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and made friends with everyone they came in contact with.

Because their P-Day was Saturday and that was our busiest YSA day, we weren't able to spend much time visiting historical sites with them.  But it was always fun when it worked out.

They were both family history consultants and Elder Patton gave a fireside for the YSA that got them enthused about finding their ancestors.

Aren't they an adorable couple?

As you will see from the following photos, Elder Wahlquist and Elder Patton have something in common.
They love to sit!

And they both have these funny hats.

Here they are standing together just a week before the Pattons went home.

And, of course, we went to the HRC for a final meal together.  We will miss them but they are from Provo, Utah and we plan to visit them often.

  1. The Pattons are from Provo? We must talk. I may have gone to school with their kids.
